Examining aerobic degradation of chloroethenes mixture in consortium composed of Comamonas testosteroni RF2 and Mycobacterium aurum L1

چکیده
An environmental isolate Comamonas testosteroni RF2 has been previously described to cometabolize trichloroethene (TCE), 1,2-cis-dichloroethene (cDCE), 1,2-trans-dichloroethene (tDCE), and 1,1-dichloroethene (1,1DCE) when grown on phenol lactate sodium. In this study, three vinyl chloride (VC) degrading strains, Mycobacterium aurum L1, Pseudomonas putida PS, Rhodococcus ruber Sm-1 were used form consortia with the strain in terms achieve removal of VC along above-mentioned chloroethenes. Degradation assays performed for a binary mixture cDCE as well TCE, all DCEs VC. The consortium composed C. M. L1 showed be most efficient towards (6.01 mg L?1) (10 was capable efficiently removing chloroethenes sample at initial concentrations 116 ?g L?1 662 cDCE, 42 tDCE, 16 1,1DCE, 7 efficiency nearly 100% compounds. Although complete took significantly longer time than other chloroethenes, displayed strong bioremediation potential aquifers downstream contamination characterized by presence less chlorinated ethenes.

Steroid degradation in Comamonas testosteroni.
Steroid degradation by Comamonas testosteroni and Nocardia restrictus have been intensively studied for the purpose of obtaining materials for steroid drug synthesis. C. testosteroni degrades side chains and converts single/double bonds of certain steroid compounds to produce androsta-1,4-diene 3,17-dione or the derivative. Following 9α-hydroxylation leads to aromatization of the A-ring accompa...

Comamonas testosteroni T-2 degrades p-toluenesulfonate (TSA) via p-sulfobenzoate (PSB) and protocatechuate and degrades toluenecarboxylate via terephthalate (TER) and protocatechuate. The appropriate genes are expressed in at least five regulatory units, some of which are also found in C. testosteroni PSB-4 (F. Junker, R. Kiewitz, and A. M. Cook, J. Bacteriol. 179:919-927, 1997). متن کاملPolymicrobial Bacteremia Involving Comamonas testosteroni
Comamonas spp. are uncommon isolates in microbiology laboratories and have been rarely observed as an infectious agent in clinical practice. They have widespread environmental distribution and have been isolated from water, soil, and plants as well as from some hospital devices such as intravenous catheters and water contained in humidifier reservoirs used in respiratory treatment. The genus Co...

متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of Comamonas testosteroni R2, Consisting of Aromatic Compound Degradation Genes for Phenol Hydroxylase
Comamonas testosteroni strain R2 was isolated from a continuous culture enriched by a low concentration of phenol-oxygenating activities with low Ks values (below 1 μM). The draft genome sequence of C. testosteroni strain R2 reported here may contribute to determining the phenol degradation gene cluster.
